GREAT BARRIER REEF

Cairns is the ideal departure point for trips to the Great Barrier Reef. The Great Barrier Reef (stretching over 2,300km long) is listed as a World Heritage Site and is the largest living thing on earth, with the ecosystem being home to thousands of individual breathtaking reefs and islands.

CLIMATE

The area’s winter from May to October is relatively dry and temperatures somewhat mild. Average temperatures of 18 to 24 °C during the day and 12 to 18 °C at night. Summer carries most of the rainfall which brings the Wet Tropics to life and has an average temperature of 30 °C.
